WHAT’S ON?

LITTLE HEAVEN: A NEW MUSICAL
AUGUST 29-SEPTEMBER 2, 2024 at
Guelph Little Theatre

(176 Morris St. Guelph, Ontario, Canada)

Penny & Pound Theatre Productions is pleased to revive Distel & Distel’s captivating musical drama, Little Heaven.
Set in a tranquil Polish village in 1947, just two years after the devastating war that reshaped Europe, the lives of the residents at Mael Niebo apartment complex intersect in a tale that will deeply resonate with audiences. Leo Meier, a newspaper editor from Berlin, grapples with guilt over his involvement in perpetuating the Reich's hateful message, straining his relationship with his impressionable daughter. Meanwhile, Maestro Covali, a Romani violin virtuoso, seeks to rebuild his life after the tragic loss of his wife and children. Catholic siblings Katherine and Joseph Worcheka embark on a journey of forgiveness as they embrace a new life free from tradition. The Hoffson family challenge societal stereotypes and prejudice while patriarch, Solomon (2024 WODL Award winner Rob Grundy), wrestles with a secret that threatens to consume him.
Little Heaven is a story of hope, survival and community that will deeply resonate with audiences, both new and returning.
