THERE IS NOTHING SO NICE AS SUPPOSING

For nearly a decade, Penny & Pound Theatre Productions has been a driving force in youth theatre education in Southwestern Ontario. Now, for the first time, we are pleased to present our JUNIOR COMPANY- a performance program designed specifically for young performers in Grades 4-8 who are looking to immerse themselves in the world of theatrical arts! Over the course of ten months, students will experience all aspects of theatre production while working towards performing a full-scale musical. Guided by experienced theatre veterans and bi-monthly guests, students are encouraged to take risks and grow in both their art and their confidence!
All students who register will be able to take part in this exciting project!

This year’s musical? A LITTLE PRINCESS, based on the beloved novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett follows Sara Crewe, a wealthy and kind-hearted girl sent to Miss Minchin’s boarding school in London. When her father dies and she loses her fortune, Sara is forced into servitude by the cruel headmistress. Despite hardship, she remains resilient, using her imagination and kindness to uplift herself and others. In a heartwarming turn, a mysterious benefactor restores her fortune, proving that true nobility comes from within.

Students will help to develop this new Canadian musical through workshops, readings and a final public performance.
